If you like the kinds of things you see on this blog – check out Krypted – Charles Edge’s Notes from the Field.

It’s Mac centric, and a bit techie, and chock full of good info!

Wow, MacWorld kinda blew it on this one. Slow news day I guess.

If you read this article and find any of it interesting, then please either drop me a line, leave a comment below or bring it up at the next Mac meeting. Some of this information is misleading, inaccurate or just plain wrong.

Help set Liberal policy on Internet

The federal Liberal Party has created a website called Voice.Liberal.ca where Canadians can let the party know which issues matter most to them. This website could prove particularly important for the issues of both Internet infrastructure and Net neutrality, which currently place second and third respectively in terms of votes.

Voice.Liberal.ca

If these issues get enough votes, Liberal policy could include elements that strongly support a fast, open and accessible Internet. Depending on how Canadian politics shake out in the coming months and years, this could have a large impact on Internet freedom for some time to come.

The fact is that, while the current battle resides at the CRTC, we may need to push them through a mandate from parliament.

Banks are open today. So is macs@work.
MMUG is happening tonight. Hope to see you there. If nothing else I will introduce a book called “Grown up Digital” by Don Tapscott about how the world is changing because of the net.
Cheers, Meg
