Muskoka Mac User Group » 2007 » September
Our October meeting will be on Tuesday the 9th.
Up this month – Internet Shopping!
We’d like to ask everybody to bring three quick things on topic to share.
e.g. What’s your favourite site to buy shoes? Where do you go to check on pricing? How do you tend to pay for items you buy online?
There’s endless possiblites here – and if you’ve never bought, borrowed, begged or stolen anything online, then you’d better come prepared with three reasons why not so the rest of the group can discuss that!
With Christmas coming up this was the perfect time to start this discussion. Online shopping can save you time, money and the endless headaches of crowds and traffic. On the other hand, if you enjoy all that shopping, you can window shop online 24×7 and never run out of places to look.
If there’s anybody who’s ever considered coming out but thought they’d have nothing to share with the rest of us – you’ve got no excuses now
Come out! Learn something new, meet someone new, or teach us something new! I bet we can save you more money or more time than you ever thought possible this shopping season.
Ever tried to empty the trash and got this error?

Yes, there are ways to delete it regardless, and yes, logging out and in again or rebooting will probably ‘fix’ it, but what if you actually want to know what the heck is using that darned file?
Fire up Terminal.app and ask it!

Tada!
Yep – it’s in the preview screen in iTunes, which is minimized on my Dock….
After a couple of months off during the busy Muskoka summer season we are ready to get back into the regular rountine of monthly MMUG meetings which take place on the second Monday of every month except October when we will meet on the Tuesday after the second Monday which is Thanksgiving. So get those dates into your calendars and if you know of any Mac users who might be interested in joining our group, by all means, bring them along.
Meetings will take place as usual in The Digital Life Centre of macs@work.
The focus for our first meeting of the year will be the new “Numbers” component of iWork ‘08 and how it compares with Excel and the former spreadsheet capability of Appleworks.
Meeting schedule for the rest of 2007 will be:
Monday September 10:
Tuesday October 9
Monday November 12
Monday December 10
Meeting time: 7:30 p.m. to 9 ish.
See you there!
