MacWorld put out four great articles recently. They are all worth a quick look.

First up mention of a free downloadable game from Freeverse. Version one of their Wingnuts game is free now that version two is out.

Secondly on a related theme the wild smash hit World of Warcraft (which I confess I didn’t realize was available on the Mac) has released a ten day trial.

Third up is a quick run down of how to encrypt those flash drives everybody is carrying around. For what it’s worth, I’d go the ‘Apple Way’ here and use File Vault rather than rely on the flash hardware’s provided solution.

Last up is a cool tip on how to make sure all your Save File boxes are always maximized. Like the authour, twisting that triangle is something I always have to do at least once in every program.

Check ‘em all out!

I was using a work related website this morning, and tried to access a certain webpage.
This is what I got. Maybe they should work on their proofreading a little better :-)

Well, ok. Maybe I’m going overboard – but I got your attention – and it’s driving me nuts today anyway :-)

I’ll buy coffee for the first person to tell me how to quit seeing these two annoying pop up screens.
Especially when the default choice is never what I want!

We have changed the day of our meetings to the second Monday of every month and it looks like we still have everyone with us. Whew!

Some of you still need to register for the new year. Membership fees have not changed. $25 for individual, $35 couple.

The Agenda for November looks very interesting.

Sharon Donald will present the group’s finances and demonstrate some of the more visual ways that data can be presented in Excel.

Don McCormick will show us a slide show he has created using Keynote and will give us a few pointers about what he has learned.

Blair Matthews will show us around his website–in particular how he creates podcasts using GarageBand and iWeb.

See you Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Digital Life Centre at macs@work. Remember to bring a chair please.

If I klick on to “Applications,” “Library” or “Users” in my sidebar I receive an error sign:

“The volume for “Applications” cannot be found.” (Same for Library and Users.)

My Applications are found in the second column in my column view and all of the applications are there. Why do they no longer open in my sidebar?

Solultion found at a MMUG meeting. Problem was in the Preferences under the Apple symbol.
