Here’s a neat little application – Spirited Away – I’ve been trying out this week. It automatically hides any application that has been idle for any length of time. i.e. Mine is set to 2 minutes, so any application I haven’t used in the last two minutes is hidden and out of my way. There is an ‘exclude’ list feature too, so you can tell it to never hide Finder or Safari say… Combined with my earlier hint about transparent applications in the Dock when hidden I’m really liking it so far. It’s free. The change log says it works with Tiger (and I’m using it on Panther) so I don’t know if it works in Jaguar or not but hey, download it and try it for yourself!

Here’s a handly little tip from Mac World. With double scroll bar arrows you can just move your mouse back and forth between them wtihout even releasing the button. Great for people who don’t have a scroll wheel on their mouse already or laptop users. Take a look – they’ve even included a demo movie.

Somebody has OSX running on an Intel laptop, breaking the ‘Apple only hardware’ restrictions. Info and links to a couple of movies here. Boy I’d like to say I told you so – but I did think it wouldn’t be done this quick. As a side note – I think that laptop boots faster than my iMac…
